And a question just came into my brain: Historically, is there any connection between the words התר and the Greek word heteros (different/other)? Or is it just super weird coincidence?

Yes, and…there are mistakes that are baked into the text. Masoretes instituted corrections for some (a word looks like one thing written, but we pronounce it another way. It’s actually kind of fascinating. And one of my favorite short teaches.

Fun, ancient memories of being a young rabbi at camp with teens, and leading a session of an elective on sex/sexuality/etc. Within the hour—their goal for the first 15 minutes: make this young rabbi uncomfortable. Their goal once they figured out that they wouldn’t succeed: Oh, cool, conversation!
