Enjoyed your chapbook (arrived today) -- it somewhat carried me back to Merwin's Finding the Islands (1982), but is of course unique. In recent times, I've mainly been writing in the rispetto (eight line) form & sometimes quote or draw from others' texts.

I understand that a ghost exists only for a limited amount of time, before the soul involved takes another incarnation. Basically, methinks the same principle would apply to pre-human evolutionary forms too.

I'm pretty sure it was the New York Philharmonic who performed it when I heard it, prob 20-25 years ago. Made a strong impression. It's interesting that I believe he wrote that first, before going very far into the whole Opera thing.
