I wish staring out airplane windows was more comfortable. Always having to adjust so you don’t get a neck or back cramp. You’ve already paid for a birds eye view, what a shame that you can’t savour it

One of my absolute favorite books growing up was Catch-22. I remember asking my hs English lit teacher why it wasn’t on our assigned reading list. Never got an answer… she heard me for sure. I don’t think she ignored me. I think she just hadn’t given it much thought before? Idk. Was a long time ago.

Shakespeare asked if a rose by any other name would smell so sweet. My whole life I’ve thought to myself, no. Obviously not. But now I think that sometimes yes, it might smell differently by a different name.

Leadership based on fear (aka manipulation) is the weakest form of leadership. It does not inspire nor empower. It is bullying on steroids.

Not everyone thrives in a highly competitive environment. We are an advanced enough society that we don’t need to live like Spartans. The true measure of a society’s success is how it cares for its most vulnerable.

The number of figurative fires in my life seems to remain constant. I am extinguishing them one by one, but somehow another one springs up to replace it. It’s sort of fascinating I guess on a conceptual level. Very confusing too. 🤷♀️

This week I’ve repeatedly thought to myself I desperately need a caring hug and the person who finally gave it was a girl who used to pick on me in elementary school. Not just 1 hug either. A warm hug hello, a 30 second catch up on our lives, and a warm hug goodbye.

Do people really manage to keep up with their lives and have clean homes? Like all of their home? Not just the dishes and laundry regularly, but cleaning the floor and dusting and bathroom and carpet and like the whole home? Is that real? Is that a realistic expectation??

Realizing my degree of weirdness at work has been a little on the unhinged side and at the same time struggling to not buy a small doormat to place inside my cubicle.
I think anyone who knows me at this point knows my company’s culture and mine are at odds.
