I work in IT. Older colleague complains that Outlook refuses to render plain-text emails with monospace font. This messes up a tool of his, that sends email reports with ASCII tables. AITA for suggesting to just modernize the tool to send an HTML email? I'm a fan of TUIs but c'mon it's 2025

It really is going to be okay, because furious fascism can’t last forever. I don’t think anyone is okay right now, and things will get less okay. These are the times courage is made for, though, and we all have it.

In the UK, auto insurance prices dropped 16% in a year.

A big reason: Lower urban speed limits

Industry analyst: "Areas where 20mph zones have been introduced result in lower levels of claim frequency – a key factor in the cost of car insurance."

I'm trying to see how similar climate change action is to quitting smoking. It's hard, way harder than people like to think ("oh, you just need to do X") because our society is totally drugged on fossil fuels. And stopping now will have the greater benefits only years later.
I think this is one of my favourite colourful climate chart type things, because it depicts two things at once:

- Things are going to get worse, no matter what

- The degree to which they get worse depends on decisions made today
