I'm sure it's totally coincidental that the AoNZ government's changes to the Marsden Fund have been followed by successful applications led by female investigators dropping from 55% to 33%, and successful applications led by Māori investigators dropping from 13% to 5%. 🫠 🧪

I'm sure it's totally coincidental that the AoNZ government's changes to the Marsden Fund have been followed by successful applications led by female investigators dropping from 55% to 33%, and successful applications led by Māori investigators dropping from 13% to 5%. 🫠 🧪

I, genuinely, consider our current NZ coalition govt to be amongst the most intellectually limited, basic ass, self-serving, bunch of no mates, petty, vindictive losers ever to hold power. Their entire ethos reeks of smug punching down and ego-soothing greed.

the public sector, and the politicians who ultimately direct it, have been so slow to adjust to this new reality. these environmental and infrastructure destroying weather events are annual. it’s an indictment that the “thought leaders” in adaptation are insurers and financiers
This is basically normal now, and it will only get worse if we don’t rethink road design and landscape architecture holistically.
