I'm also from a family of talkers, and I e found that talking helps prevent it. So I've been trying to embrace that more.

I'd go through a day feeling good, like I have a smile on my face. I'd pass a mirror and see that I have the resting half scowl I usually have. Easiest way to ruin my mood.

On the plus side, my friends know me well enough that seeing me like this doesn't deter them. So I just don't look in mirrors

I think the game also needs to implement it well.

I've played enough JRPGs where they just decide "screw it, just double his stats" and it feels like they just want you to grind. But others are great with "hey, did you *actually* learn that mechanic from the tutorial?"
