Ah fair. I‘d still say he was settled in 2016 (by comparison to the Rest of the Grid) but I seem to have missed the Point with him being a Generational Talent. Completely agree that he was an even better Driver by the end of 2018

For example, the only completely Self inflicted crashes with consequences were in 2015 & 2016 Monaco. And unlike Antonelli, he made up for it with great perfomances everywhere else

Yeah, i‘m sure he earned it in the first couple of races in 2018. But it was used again in 2021 because of his agressive moves, not his unforced errors turned crashes iirc.

That‘s where I have to disagree. He was overly agressive in 16/17, but made few unforced errors. Pace and execution wise, he was brilliant from the start I think.

And the nickname thing has probably more to do with his agressive moves in 2021, and has nothing to say about his quality.

Or make the Turn in earlier and skip the chicane before the First Lesmo

An underrated moment (not spoken of enough) in an underrated race (sadly overshadowed) in an underrated Season. Story of Leclerc‘s career

I used to agree with quite a lot of these Rankings, but Piastri surely can‘t be 1st. Especially with Norris 9th, who has performed on pretty much the same level

It’s a bit disappointing with F1 „journalism“ in General. As soon as a Storyline presents itself, it’s parroted all the time, without anyone bothering to Check if it’s even true. Case in Point the Leclerc/Piastri remarks you mentioned.
August 22, 2025 at 3:56 PM
Ah, didn‘t know it was on a podcast. I personally can‘t watch a race just with the Engine sounds, so I Need the commentary whenever I‘m not focusing on the Ocon onboard
August 22, 2025 at 3:30 PM
Part of the reason I listen to Sky commentary. They Talk shit too, but it‘s more charming from Crofty and Brundle imo. Also, sometimes Button and Rosberg are there
August 22, 2025 at 2:55 PM
It‘s more a case of Piastri being overrated imo

Not even much of a Newgarden fan but if this amount of bad luck happened to Ocon in half a season you'd find me like this

Australia maybe? Weird to say with a Grand Chelem, but I‘d say he struggled every other time (even with his two debuts pre 2022 ignored). Otherwise, there are probably more tracks he‘s great and not just good at
June 15, 2025 at 7:02 PM
When I heard people say that, I couldn‘t remember any weak performances, but it‘s true he did not often have the possibility to shine. It’s probably more eye catching, because he has set sky high expectations with his performances at most other venues.

@acasatua.bsky.social Is it true that Canada is one if Leclercs weaker tracks?

I Like McLaughlin (Lap of Gods is reason enough, and Newgarden gets the Extension through Bus Bros (against better reasoning. Massive dislike against Penske in general though.
