I looked up Jay's work. He had early work in the Royal Shakespeare Company, he was better known for voicework. Chairface Chippendale in the Tick, thr second Shere Khan (especially in Talespin) and Rugrats. Klasky Csupo cast Jay as the famous pediatrician Dr. Lipschitz.

I definitely grew up on X-Men, Small Soldiers, and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.

It's a great episode where Val convinces Fran to be her roommate in a neighborhood where the male:female ratio is really high.

I'd also recommend tgese 2. Boston-set sitcoms. "Clipped" (a barbershop show where Wendt and Reginald Vel Johnson play a married couple). Also "Raising Dad" (starring Kat Dennings, Bree Larson, & Bob Saget).
