Dr @yonatan.bsky.social's book examining, from a social historical point-of-view, the origins of Judaism is such a clear and riveting read! The attention to detail and the painstaking methodology that's laid out for the reader make it so easy to follow. I'm really enjoying reading this!

I really thought I'd write a poem without sarcasm this time… and it certainly started that way!

The two-volume Cartoon Guide to Economics. A really good introduction to the subject that really unlocks the subject. No prior knowledge needed.

I thought it was hyperbole that the wiki page for the movie says it has been listed as one of the greatest movies of the 21st c. and all time. It is not. 'Everything, Everywhere, All At Once' is a masterpiece and a rollercoaster of spectacle, action, visuals and emotions.

The single-season anime Death Parade from 2013 is a profound and moving exploration of life and death. I'd summarise it as,
"Who can best judge a human soul? Who can rightly weigh a human life?"

There are many good introductions to philosophy out there, but my favourite one is Jostein Gaarder's Sophie's World. It's a weird and charming story meant for kids that's equally delightful for adults. You can find copies floating around for about £3.

Fun fact I learned: in English we write out numbers in cheques, etc. with 'only' at the end to prevent fraud (like this example from Nationwide).

In Japanese, it's easy to see how simple it can be to modify kanji like 一. So you use an alternative set of kanji called daiji: 壱 for 一, for example!
