Theoretically yes. In practice? I know first hand that they can and will ruin you. The military is incapable of rendering impartial judgements, its sole purpose is to close with and destroy an enemy. As soon as you are accused, you become that enemy. 20yrs @ the USDB, 45 left on parole

Sadly at one time or another that's pretty much all humanity. Ironically in this case its the one abused becoming just like their abuser. This also is nearly always true.

Try being a Muslim my friend. I *was* a pre neocon Rep when I joined the NationalGuard. Then I chose the wrong religion to believe and asked the wrong questions about a preemptive war I did not volunteer to fight.
