Also curious about this... It wouldn't surprise me if this got cancelled at the last minute given *gestures wildly at everything*

Rocco should have been hugging random guys between innings all day, just to keep y'all on your toes 🤣

I loved reading the words, but I loved watching the clip even more.

I think it's similar to the Twitter situation. Sure, someone swooped in to buy Twitter - but it'll never be the same. It's being recreated here, but not the same. The 12 hour marketing stunt shutting down TikTok didn't change ownership of course, but I don't think it'll be the same again.

We can get back to that. But it's not done by locking doors. It's done by opening them. Listening to people. Being a good person. Giving a hand up to someone in need. Working with people to find answers, rather than trying to own the biggest things. We can solve our problems - if we want to.

The promise of America is well summarized on this little statue in the New York Harbor: "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

But why TikTok and not other social media platforms? Why TikTok and not other Chinese-based apps like RedNote? I'd argue Temu is pretty bad for us too. But it's just this one. And the US Government has done a really bad job at explaining the "why" behind it.

I'll admit, I probably spend more time on TikTok than I should. But we live in a global society. Geopolitical boundaries mean less than they ever did before. We should be sharing and learning with friends from around the world - not putting up physical and virtual walls to isolate ourselves.

Recent elections don't appear to have been "hacked", instead the uninformed electorate has been "phished" into voting for someone who will likely do things that are actively bad for the electorate that supported him.

Tell me this hasn't happened in the last several elections with Facebook. I don't see anyone clamoring for that to get banned. Twitter was bought so that the new owner could tweak the algorithm to exert influence on us. Truth Social, anyone?

Well I mean they started "Black Friday" deals on November 1 and ran all month... Also, we have enough TVs.
