It’s super dumbed down absolutism that erases nuance. Combined with social media, it’s very effective. I’d say easy more so than genius. Absolutism works well with sound bites and 140 characters. Nuance requires an attention span.

Under this kind of sloppy rationalization, stopping a purse snatcher would be divisive. Can we not gaslight with the false equivalencies and grieve for the feelings of bigots?

Anyone who thinks that calling out bigotry is more divisive than bigotry is not on a different side of the same coin, they are either the bigots who were called out and feeling defensive or they are useful idiots.

…and CEOs. Maybe we can outsource those positions. Maybe some Japanese or Chinese CEOs can run our companies competently for less.

I have noticed the point that two conservatives, who also disagree with each other, will only go after the liberal. Like a climate change denier that thinks it’s getting hot, but not due to carbon and a denier that doesn’t believe it’s getting hotter at all. A different version of identity politics.

I’d add a that throwing the Nazi salute while saying “my heart goes out to you” made it a physical dog whistle. Awesome video.

My wife convinced me to close my FB account. That’s why I set up this account, so I can share my username with folks I want to stay in touch with. I already backed up my 19 years of content on FB and informed my friends I would be leaving as soon as I shared contact info. This is my 1st post here!
