I'm a writer and game developer. I know, real unique.
STELLAR CONVERTER ONLINE!
It is one of my all time favorite old turn-based strategy games. Fun species to play as, ship combat, you can blow up planets... I always played as the smartypants science guys, though. Maybe I should play again as someone else...

This was my first SNES game and my first JRPG, and I love it still. You're a freakin' dragon, for one. It also has Katt in it, who is.. A catlady. Tigers are the best, too.

Before Fields of Mistria, this was my go-to Stardew Valley++. Stone-age settings are very rare, so it's really fun to see one that is focused on progress, community, and all-around good vibes. Combat is replaced by puzzles, which makes it even better.

An underrated strategy game with great writing and atmosphere, and really fun combat/puzzle. Raid necron tombs, level up your technofanatics, and have a great time. I can't wait for Mechanicus 2!

This is on the list because of the premise, and how it's implemented. Based off the manga, you play as a samurai who's everything was taken by demons. You have a knee-cannon and a elbow machine gun, and start the game in greyscales (because you have no eyes!). Brilliant. :D

PEAK city builder. The same company made a bunch of similar game in various eras, and they were all great. Charming, fun, and you could piss off the gods so much they'd invade your city. Good times. :D

I don't play a ton of point-and-click adventure games, but the setting and writing in Darkside Detective are too good to pass. I've played both games multiple times, just because the writing is so fun (and my memory is awful)

Like Fields of Mistria, it is a game I will not stop gushing over. I absolutely love it - the gameplay is fun, the writing is smart, the characters are amazing. It's all around a fantastic time and I will talk your ears off about it. :D

This game really shows what you can do with very little. It's incredibly addicting even though it only really has two button. No movement, just attack as things comes in range. It's lovely and a great example of game design. :D

The first Darkest Dungeon is an amazing (if endurance-challenge-y) dungeon crawler with fantastic atmosphere, art, and gameplay. I have played so much DD and now I kinda wanna install it again.

I love roguelikes, and I love deckbuilders, so Slay the Spire is like catnip to me. It is the gold-standard against which all other deckbuilders games are measured to me, and it has yet to be toppled from it's throne. Psyched for the sequel!

The only MMO I've ever really loved. The fast paced combat, the fun powers, the sheer amount of possible builds all made it such a fun experience to me. There are City of Heroes characters I still think about.

One of my favorite games of all time and responsible for a life-long love of tactical type games. If I listen to the soundtrack, I always get the urge to play it again. :D
