No idea, but it seems most often to be because they felt bullied or excluded, and lacked the tools or guidance to get help and express their pain without violence. As noted, almost all mass shooters are cisgender men. Less than 1/4 are diagnosed with mental illness. Almost none are trans.

Clearly I’m not an expert on this, but I think bullying and social exclusion was thematic in male shooters. I would expect no less when the shooter is trans. Kids that are hurt try to hurt others, sometimes with guns. I don’t know what to do to help, but hurting and excluding more kids ain’t it.
