I always caution folks though, the winters are very rough- particularly the NEK, northern NH, western ME and northern ME. And New Hampshire isnt quite as live free or die as they pretend to be

I drive an hour each way to work down to central Maine, which doesn’t have tons of high paying jobs either, but it’s a bit better than up here

I absolutely love it here. I’ve lived in a few places around the country, and Maine is one of only 3 states I’d ever live in, the other two being Vermont and New Mexico. For a rural leftist, can’t really beat Maine. I’m in the mountains and it’s incredibly beautiful, but winters are really rough.

Yeah, he definitely has some judgment issues. I do think he is fairly genuine in his beliefs, and I do believe that people can grow and change, but I don’t know how great his judgment is. I think he’s still going to win though from my perspective here in the western Maine mountains

I live in a red (by New England standards) county in rural Maine. Very sparsely populated, very low income, decreasing population and increasing poverty, people here definitely didn’t vote for trump over his taste in interior decoration. I’ve never seen a gold plated trailer out here

I live in poverty stricken rural Maine, if you think we’re all just cool with nazis, you can fuck right off. No solidarity with fascists & racists, certainly not in my neck of the Maine backwoods

I’m willing to give people a lot of room to grow and change. I think people can change and become better people from really bad shit. As an anarchist, it’s part of my ideology to believe in the power of human growth, but that’s not what we’ve seen from Platner
