Maybe they're detecting that the image is mostly text? They may hide it to avoid potential usability issues?

Yes, both - dual boot is too inconvenient. WSL is great but was tied to one machine and I like to be able to switch between my desktop & laptop.

My workstation runs Windows but I connect to a Linux box via X2Go for all of my development work. Life is good. 👍
