I wouldn't be surprised if 2028 is a mad dash to the center. Once Trump is gone, extremists on either side will appear "Trumpish" and people will be tired of that.

Personally, I dislike the Republican Rhetoric on this one. It's not about "giving benefits to illegal aliens", it's about the fact that COVID19 Era subsidies have become redundant at this point. Maybe Lindsey Graham is right about insurance companies taking advantage.

Are there any examples where communism has worked over the long haul? Seems like once the initial enthusiasm is gone, The People's representatives are just as vulnerable to weakness and temptation as anybody else. Capitalism's inherent cynicism guaranties at least no one is disappointed.

Yes, but an 82-year-old man who was instrumental in Nixon's downfall and hasn't exactly shied away from the public eye in recent times. Maybe he's not as effective as he was 50 years ago, but he hasn't been silenced either.

That's the last national election where it felt like democracy to me. I voted for Obama, but I wouldn't have lost any sleep if Mc Cain had won. Young dynamic person of color vs established war hero and patriot. Both were rational and neither was a "bomb thrower".

1969. They didn't have an album until 1974 so maybe that doesn't count. On the other hand, they're still touring.

Young Americans just starting out, working their way through college, etc. Used to be pretty commonplace. I worked as a dishwasher and a night janitor in the early 80s.
