They don’t want to be iron leaguers anymore. They want to be people. Having as much control as possible over their lives along with having their bodies belong to them and ONLY them. While the freedom they achieved isn’t always perfect, it’s a taste of freedom nonetheless.

Even if they went to Silver Castle they’d still be condemned to the system in the sense that they still won’t have the right to just not do this anymore. Even if Ruri would’ve been a little nicer about it. They’d still have to play regardless. Might as well just forget about that entirely.

Back home wasn’t any better. The games they play represents their pride and honor sure. But the harsh reality is they were nothing more than the equivalent to circus animals to the people there. Especially when it comes to their owners and their audience.
