@mattblaze I find myself repeating the serenity prayer, even though, maybe especially, because I don't know if I believe in a God.

@futurebird I recently had a very similar catball experience

@futurebird ooooh man that's such a "thanks i hate it" moment.

@mattblaze @SteveBellovin oh, they're definitely going to be identified by AI. For their own safety of course.

@futurebird Americans are not in a good place right now. 💔

@Edent *sucks on a corncob pipe.* "Ah yes, I remember the old Archimedes Plutonium. Back cross posting on sci.physics, and rec.pets.cats, he did. I don't think any man or woman alive got to them of one of those posts" *blows smoke ring*

@krra I feel so ashamed of my failure as a partner. May I someday be forgiven.

@futurebird @llewelly oh sorry, I read it wrong, I thought you said disadvantage 😅
November 15, 2025 at 12:21 PM
@llewelly @futurebird futurebird is right, but it's very affected by intergenerational wealth. If you don't get a anything from your parents it's a lot worse out there for most people.

@futurebird yes, urban induced demand is a good, as long as it's done right and preserves open space and the city's fabric. I think the best city I've seen for this is Seoul.
November 15, 2025 at 11:52 AM
@futurebird but it is one of those situations with transit improvement that everyone wants it in general, but not to be locally inconvenienced by someone actually coming in and doing it. Which is a hard problem no doubt! But you can't build new infrastructure in a city like NY without pissing […]

@futurebird fair! It's been a long time since I "lived" in New York. (I couldn't afford housing them)
November 15, 2025 at 11:44 AM
@futurebird this can be helped by building housing and expanding public transit, but that's kind of a political non-stater in New York. Heck, most of America right now, but it does work.

@mark I have a thing called a SIBO. It is not contagious. It is, at least at times, utterly unlivable.

I'm literally dizzy and nauseated just sitting on a couch.
