Vapour Trails
@quincyd.bsky.social
I am Geoff Quincy. Vapour Trails is where I collect and write about things that make up the tapestry of the world I was born into, many threads of which are disappearing. An expert in nothing, just an enthusiastic amateur. https://vapourtrails.substack.com
Well this can just fuck right off

@tftimemachine.bsky.social have you ever seen this clip? Its on Stuart Millard's brilliant YouTube channels latest video on Noel featuring him introducing a gurning feature. As if that's not enough the current champion of the time is Mr Ron Looney. Noel heaven.

@profanityswan.bsky.social this is a bit Noel adjacent so naturally I thought of you and Sam when I saw it.

@tftimemachine.bsky.social it's a shame Sam doesn't have the vita modular anymore but perhaps one for you Andy as a man (like me) who lives alone and can completely make his own home design choices!

@tftimemachine.bsky.social Hi Pals, was just eating some Edam (not my house cheese obviously) on the kitchen worktop. Saw a small stray piece as I was clearing up and ate it to find it was actually a very potent sliver of scented candle wax. Tasted ok but had to cleanse with a chocolate finger.

These are mine, Evelyn Waugh to the right and to the left: Alan Grants Doomlord which is very scarred for life adjacent if you're unaware of it.

Thanks John. I have been distracting myself by making love drawings of The Windsock today.

I've written a brief history of the boldest and most unusual definitely not flat roofed pub you've never heard of here

Trying to persuade myself not to buy tickets to see Ride in Berlin for my son and I in May having tonight just paid out for the Forever Now festival in Milton Keynes and tomorrow going to book Father John Misty in Cambridge both within a few days of each other in June.

Do the theme tunes to long forgotten TV shows cause a tight knot to appear in the pit of your stomach? You're not alone. Attached is a link to this weeks piece of writing on "Sunday Night Dread"

And a couple showing the interior of Bletchley Leisure Centre. I first went there in about 1982 and had never experienced a swimming pool like it. So forward thinking for the time it was built. Predictably it's gone now replaced with a dreary metal box building and normal pool pictured alongside.

Bletchley Leisure Centre under construction in 1973. The pyramid housed a magnificent swimming pool which for its day was extremely modern being designed for leisure with graduating depths you could just walk into like on a beach rather than an boring oblong with lane and a shallow and deep end.

My first drawing in 23 years. I didn't mean to leave it so long but I got distracted by a few things. Dome is s bit dodgy but I'll do better next time.

Didn't realise this was available to buy. If you're unfamiliar with it I can best describe its as Threads but with Alsatians instead of nukes.

I always think you can spot the adulterers by the vehicles they arrive in. Eg man arrives in this, he's definitely having an affair with the woman!

Just going down memory lane with some of Hulls finest forgotten indie sons

I came across this in a service station toilet the other day and really don't want to know about the events that led to this decision.

Sunday night dread anyone? It's ok Geoffrey I tell myself: You don't have to go to Queensbury School in the morning, you don't have basketball first thing, Mr Birch can't make your team be skins and anyway you don't have moobs anymore... it's all fine now.
