Can an authoritarian's power ever be benevolent? I think not. An authoritarian's enduring power requires corruption (by their own personal participation or by sanctioning others' actions) because the goal will always be to maintain power. IMO authoritarians cannot hold onto power without corruption.

There's something about absolute power & corruption being unique to humans. The powerful elite get high on their own supply then eventually burn out. But not before causing a lot of suffering to innocent & vulnerable peasants.

Everything needs to be done at once. None of us knows what they'll do next or what the future may hold. People who want to focus on long range solutions, do it. People who are concerned about what needs done today, do that. Everyone pick a station and work it hard. We need all contingencies. Unite.

Who deputises them (if they r deputised not just self-appointed vigilantes)? How/where do they sign up? Who do they report to? Who leads them? Who gives them the personal details of these innocent people? Why r they in unmarked vehicles with no plates or borrowed plates? Where r the elected reps?

I would be most appreciative if in your research you find an original or a contemporary handwritten copy of this letter so we can try to understand its provenance. And also if you are able to describe to us its place in the historical context. Many thanks in advance. My email: karenVswaine at gmail.

Once again Dems let Americans down by not following Green's lead and getting kicked out one by one as they called out the orange felon's lies to his face. This was the best, if not only, opportunity for Dems to show a coordinated effort to fight this coup. We need good trouble but they're incapable.

This was the best if not only opportunity for Dems to show us a coordinated effort to fight this coup. Just sitting there quietly taking more abuse was not at all meeting the urgency of the moment. We need action but they gave us more victimhood.

WTAF? Why didn't they follow Al Green's lead?! It was the only thing to do. The only move to make. He was right there! Trapped. The perfect opportunity to disrupt. Call him out to his ugly orange face. And then one by one get kicked out. That's the kind of good trouble we needed them to do for us.
