Hopefully Generative AI can be used constructively rather than destructively since it is in a completely neutral factual stance a "feat" in technological progression.

"AI art" however technically can be considered a "kitbash" of already existing media in the form of tracing/heavily referencing said media (which hopefully was legally acquired and not stolen), so while it is frowned upon if it was legally acquired then it is fine technically.

"AI Artists" legally and literally are not an artist but rather "commissioning" (asking) someone else (the AI) to make an art piece for them. You wouldn't/couldn't call yourself an artist after commissioning an artist to make it for you if you don't make art yourself.
