Every morning, kiddo “gives it breakfast” by opening the blackout curtains in his room. Every other week, he waters it until water comes out the bottom. And it grows slowly and steadily, so you won’t be swimming in cuttings or having to repot/fertilize.

My personal favorite for this is Chinese evergreen, which is pretty, happy in low light, very low maintenance, and tough as nails. How tough? When Kid Rhod asked for a plant to have it in his room, it’s what I got for him, and four months later, it’s thriving 15 feet away from the closest window

so I was braced for a really intense thing that made him quit the book. and he said that he wanted to, but then thanks to the work with the OT, he cuddled up to me on the couch and I read out loud the 40 pages with the sad part. then he went right back to reading and had to be pried off for bedtime.

kid rhod has historically had a lot of difficulty regulating around narrative tension — he gets really upset and feels so overwhelmed that he can’t finish the book or movie, but we’ve been working on it in OT

right now, he is finishing up “The One and Only Ivan”, which is his VERY FIRST chapter book with a sad plot point. he has really been enjoying it, but came up to me this afternoon and was like I AM GETTING QUITE WORRIED ABOUT [REDACTED FOR SPOILERS], and then I was like, I’m sorry bud 😔

Sale is over now, but honestly, I love these notebooks so much, and how will you know if you have enough notebooks unless you buy more? 🤔🤔🤔
