Screened NOCTURNES tonight as part of my SOUTH ASIAN FILM SERIES. A beautifully shot entry in a growing trend of eco-docs out of India (see: ALL THAT BREATHES).
I programmed this film in my South Asian Film Series last year and it’s FINALLY available in the States (on Prmie). Highly recommended. A funny, moving, infuriating at times, heartwarming at others look at gig economy work in India. Directed by the great actress Nandita Das.

Was teaching scene structure today and since I have a few students writing mysteries, I picked this as a good example of that moment where the character finally pieces it together.
