As Magnus diligently did his job in ensuring the train ran smoothly, he would concoct all the different ways they’d finally meet. Maybe the stranger would hear Magnus’ broadcast over the speakers announcing the stations and be compelled to search out the person behind the voice, or their eyes would meet when the stranger finally looked up from their phone and the spark between them would be undeniable and they’d live happily ever after. Magnus knew it was ridiculous, there was no question that the stranger was a safe mental fantasy to push away the doldrums. He never planned on making contact with the stranger.
