Isn‘t it a problem with your approach that many subsidies for renewables only appear in the retail price and not in the wholesale price? Think of Germany‘s EEG for example. The subsidies making the difference between maket price and production cost are only included in the retail price.

Die VNB vergeben hier viel extern, wo es keine Anbieter gibt, werden meist Gemeinschaftsunternehmen gegründet. Gerade in der Betriebsführung sehe ich keine grossen Nachteile und
Datentransparenz muss sowieso erzwungen werden, egal ob gross oder klein. Beispiel hier: www.strompreis.elcom.admin.ch

Nach meiner Wahrnehmung wird oft die Grösse vorgeschoben, wo in Wirklichkeit schlechte Regulierung die Ursache ist.
Hier gibt es ja nur einen ÜNB und das hat auch grosse Nachteile (Akzeptanz, Entscheidungsstärke/Agilität, Wettbewerb um kluge Köpfe, etc.).

Montage, Hard- und Software kommen sowieso von externen Dienstleistern. Das schaffen die kleinen VNB. Das zeigt sich auch in der Statistik, die grossen VNB sind im Rollout nicht schneller als die kleinen (Daten CH 2023).

Aus meiner Sicht wird in der Diskussion die Grösse der VNB in Deutschland überhöht. Die durchschnittliche Kundenzahl der VNB der Schweiz ist z.B. nochmal ~8x kleiner als in D und trotzdem ist der Smartmeter Rollout viel weiter vorangeschritten. Der Unterschied liegt v.a. in der Regulierung.

Wasn't the political debate in CH dominated by agriculture? Industry vocally in favour of closer integration? With the initially less EU-critical public and CH and LIE being small countries with highly integrated border regions? Your argument needs further explanation.

I hope that some of these brillant people come to Europe. They would certainly be welcome here!
