I swear, every post from @nikicaga.bsky.social and @drewpavlou.bsky.social, just show how ignorant they're about Mexico and it's politics.

That and how they can even support prorrusian governments, despite they claim to support Ukraine and Taiwan.

While in practice, they disappoint a lot.

Ongoing protests against prorrusian mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum!

I wasn't familiar with your game Mamdani, I wasn't.

I'm all aboard on him now.

Prorrusian politicians like Sheinbaum, Petro or AMLO would never have these kind of stances regarding Maduro for example:

And now, I'm just stating what concerns me about Mamdani, but, as long as he stands with causes like the one of Ukraine and Taiwan, that's an instant win for me.

That's why I consider very important to know that, because I like a lot his approaches with different religions, diversity and migration.

I'm not kidding, seeing the news coming from Mexico, it's damn frustrating.

The way a democracy is lost in a country like that, it's pure impotence-filling madness.

What comforts me is that, there's still a big important sector of the country that will always oppose Morena and other autocracies.

Let's hope for the best.

AMLO was the same, he used to claim non-stop that he was "part of the the people", he participated in many protests against the PRI.

When he took power, that's when he unleashed an autocratic wave in Mexico with Cuban, Venezuela, Chinese and Russian support.

And another thing I gotta get out from my chest.

As much as Mamdani's victory may seem good, I'm not really that enthusiastic, honestly.

His statements don't convince me a lot, since I see a lot of similarities of his narrative with the one used by politicians like AMLO.

I guess I'll wait and see.

Just had to get this off my chest and mind.

It’s very hypocritical how some countrymen from Mexico in the U.S. criticize the current admin while many of them (nor all) supported the same kind of government back home.

Diego Luna’s Jimmy Kimmel statement is a perfect example of that hypocrisy.

I quote the words from former ambassador, Arturo Sarukhan:

"Judicial elections in #Mexico are the death-knell of the country's efforts to build a liberal democracy. Today's sham takes us back to the hegemonic one-party rule, with the Judicial and Legislative branches now captured by the Executive".
