We're on a little hiatus for the holidays and reevaluating what we want to focus on. Hope ever has a safe and relaxing winter!

Just a little landscape artwork for a magical island that one of our NPCs lives on. It's got a wild magic fog cloud around it and makes for ✨ spicy✨ interactions and dice rolls.

Matt and I fall into two different camps of campaign prep. He's in the outline and plan everything ahead of time. I'm in keep large points in mind, but only plan one session at a time. Which are you? A planner or a pantser (flying by the seat of your pants)?

When someone is relatively new to TTRPGs, it's easy to fall into the trap of making the most badass edgy character you've ever dreamed of being. But have you considered: flaws and weaknesses are often the better story builders? They provide potential growth and interaction beyond a bad dice roll.

We do a lot of "You meet in a..." videos because we want to see more TTRPG starters that aren't just a tavern! Curious what the most interesting campaign kick off/intro was for you.

I'll go first - it was a combination of Groundhog's Day and a theater play that came alive in all the wrong ways.

Next up in our series for the Book of Many Faces project is the grumpy yet loyal privateer, Daku! If you're looking for more pirate or coastal themed NPCs to include in your campaign, give Daku a read through.

Recently I (Liza) played in a Halloween one shot where all of the PCs were villains facing off against and even bigger, badder BBEG. I adapted Victor Frankenstein into a fleshsmithing artificer and it was so fun. But it got me thinking, what makes a media reference good inspiration?

Let's talk about combat in your favorite TTRPG. We're big fans of meaningful combat in this house and love hearing about new mechanics or rules that folks are using to make combat matter. Whether it's homebrew or canon game mechanics, let's hear it: what are your favs?

Meet Isandro, the warm-hearted tavern keeper and chef and the first of our NPCs in the Book of Many Faces. If your party is looking for a safe and welcoming place to rest their weary heads, look no further than the Chili Knight Inn, where Dro's homecooking will have you feeling better than new.

I recently finished the Lightbringer series by Brent Weeks and was minorly obsessed with the magic system based on light splitting... so I wanna know what your favorite magic systems are built on - whether that's in fiction, a TTRPG, a video game, or something else entirely. Give me recs!

For all of our digital ttrpg game masters out there - do you use props? Music, visual art, references, etc. If so, what are they and how are you using them? If not, why? Call us curious!

When we're not busy project managing a tech firm or educating the young minds of the future, we're making art for your TTRPGs! Matt's been hard at work over the past few months, teaching himself to draw so we can make cool things and share it with our community.

And so begins another week! We'll be over here dreaming about it being Friday so we can get back to writing and art. Far superior options to our usual workweek grind.

What's everyone else looking forward to? #ttrpgcommunity

Each Sunday in our Discord server, we give our community a #writingquest. This week's we're focusing on movement, travel, or maybe getting the hell outta dodge, with "The Vessel".

> Write about a ship or other vehicle that can take you somewhere different from where you are now.
