Lobaria pulmonaria coming alive after desiccation. This was over the course of about 5 minutes. Note the striking orange apothecia. We will be holding an "Intro to Lichen" nature walk in the Timber Park tomorrow, more info on our website. #quesnel #fungifriends #lichen #mycology

T'is almost Verpa season, harbinger of Morel season. In Quesnel, we find these pop up about 2-3 weeks before morels are in full gear so are a good way to prepare for a morel hunt. Do you eat Verpas? Do you like them? #Quesnel #fungifriends #mushrooms

Plicatura crispa, this lovely little mushroom grows in winter and spring here. Always love to look at the gills, not sure why we didn't manage to get any good shots of them the other day.
