There's actually grammar practice on busuu! And they explain sentence structure and such! I ended up starting from scratch despite spending literally 2 years on duo learning spanish and I already feel like I've learned more in 10 days

There are still leaderboards and friends on busuu but neither are necessary for learning and quite forgettable if you have no interest in them! It's been so refreshing :D

I did the same with duo and found I got too bogged down with the leaderboards and friend quests and I just powered through the super quick speaking practices over and over to get the XP but not actually learn. It sucked lmao

Might I suggest a switch to busuu? I recently switched to it and found a renewed enthusiasm for learning languages that really petered off while using duo. They have videos of real people speaking in the lessons and a feature that lets the community provide feedback on your writing and speech

Took me a month or two of having bski before actually using it but I quite like the simplicity and watching it grow thing again. Something I haven't seen in a few years lol
