Labels aren't limited to black/white definitions, and are integral to language to expression of identity + diversity. Exploring yourself, your sexuality, your gender identity, among other things. It takes time to learn and understand yourself. Use what feels good and feels right :)

There's many ways to be a bi ally!
- Believe bisexual people when they tell you who they are.
- Don’t assume someone’s orientation based on their partner.
- Amplify bi voices, especially bi people of color and trans bi folks.
- Celebrate bisexuality year-round, not just on visibility day.

Biphobia and bi erasure exist in alot of ways:
- Assuming someone is “actually straight” or “actually gay” based on who they’re dating
- Saying bisexuality is “just a phase"
- Treating bi people as “confused” or “greedy"
- Ignoring/excluding bisexual experiences in LGBTQ+ history + culture

Bisexuality is being attracted to more than one gender. It's a valid, beautiful identity that is different for each person

Even in queer spaces, bi people often face erasure or stigma.

Bi Visibility Day exists to uplift, celebrate, and highlight bi people + their experiences

We will not accept quiet investigations. We will not let this story fade from public eye or memory. Trey’s death must be investigated fully and transparently. We will keep saying his name, sharing his story, + demanding a world where young Black lives are with care, not dismissal.

Ruled as a homicide or suicide, Trey's death shows the shadow of unconfronted history. Black life is still treated as disposable.

Trey's family deserves answers. His community deserves the truth. Young black people across the US deserve to know they are worth more than silence and speculation

The Equal Justice Initiative documents over 4,400 racial terror lynchings between 1877 and 1950 across the South. Today, the numbers remain alarming: Black people die by suicide at rising rates, and Black men are disproportionately impacted by violence, police killings, + preventable deaths.

We recognize the importance of intersectionality. Black queer/+trans youth are at especially high risk, family rejection, school discrimination, + barriers to care.

These issues must be talked about as part of a larger fight for justice, safety, and survival. These tragedies are not isolated

Black men are 4x more likely to commit suicide compared to a decade ago, and black youth are less likely to find affirming resources

For unhoused folks, lack of housing, health care + community support increase the risk of suicide + violence death

These deaths are not isolated or in a vacuum

When tragedies like this happen, it's important to look at the systems that failed to protect these lives.

Black communities are more likely to experience poverty, discrimination, + to be exposed to violence—which has been linked to mental health crises + disability

Trey hadn't been the only death that week either. The body of 41-year-old Cory Zukatis, a homeless white man, had been found hanging from a tree as well. His death has been ruled a suicide, but the community is still reeling in pain + imagery from two people hanging within the same week

Only 50 miles away in 1955, the body of 14y/o Emmet Till had been found in the Tallahatchie River after a lynching for allegedly whistling at a white woman. His murder was one of many sparks to the civil rights movements... and 70yrs later echoes of the violence remai8

The death of Trey Reed did not happen in a vacuum.

The US, + Mississippi, carries long history of racism + racial terror. A black man hanging from a tree echos back to the thousands killed by lynchings during the Jim Crow Era.

Even now, the US contains systemic violence to destroy black life

His family is seeking an independent autopsy for transparency and accountability.

This represents more than just an autopsy to his community + family. This is about the safety, respect, and protection of Black lives, + if it'll ever truly come

Attorney Ben Crump, representing the family, has called for a full, independent investigation. Trey had been well-loved within his community, + conflicting evidence is raising questions. The Coroner's office reported no signs of assault, while Trey's social media suggests leg injuries.
