Incredible event, really amazing hearing from journalists on the front lines of human rights & reporting right now. As Fiona O’Brien of RSF emphasised, freedom of press underpins *everything*, and we all really have to care about this.
(Also a moment for the beautiful Institut Français)

In soho square thinking about how these trees watch us mourn on TDoR, be wild & passionate on trans pride, pass through on our way to clinics & recovery centres. When you don’t know where to go, go back to the centre, go back to your community and care for each other.

Thank the universe for cipher press! Thank the universe for Laurie Weeks! Thank the universe for this book!!

The perfect drug haze book, immersive and full of doomed queer yearning, it speaks to the lost soul and the dizzying temporality of addiction. Up there with the experimental classics.

Did you know the Maritime Museum has a queer history club? 😍 went to their lgbt history month presentations & they were all incredibly creative & exciting!

They have a new book out & are doing more events in the UK talking about the archive, I recommend going along if you can.

They also clearly love sharing their art, when selling postcards at the end they were so generous with giving out cards & engaging in conversations about our own art, passions, communities, stories. Like any good artist/storyteller, they also absorbed with a listening ear. ❤️

Another thing was their encouragement about going out and documenting our communities in whatever artistic ways we can. The importance of considering the archive of the future, to keep queer lives & bodies visible.

They said they didn’t just want to take photos of queer bodies, they wanted to work *with* them, make it a collaboration. Not one of their photos feels cold or lacking in that sense of care.

Some days I get a book on my desk that I’m itching to shout about now, but it’s not out for ages so I have to sit on my hands… today is one of those days

Spotted this in the hardbacks the other day, sounds amazing & is set in my neck of the woods. Has anyone read it yet? #KingsHead #Booksky
