Great quotes here from Janet Croft, our most recent podcast guest, as well as past guest Robin Reid.

In short, get fucked, fascists. Tolkien doesn't belong to you, and he sure as fuck wouldn't be advocating for ICE's gestapo tactics.

And you can even hear Janet encourage Alicia to embark on her highly-anticipated rant on the "Watcher" creature and the cultural history of Japanese tentacle "art."

We discuss Janet's approach to encourage lore accuracy and consistency in the film's script, and how she pursued questions like "Could glasses and spyglasses reasonably exist in Middle-earth?". We also explore queer readings of the film', especially Sapphic and ace/aro readings.

Happy Trans Day of Visibility to all of our trans and NB Lodgers & Birches! We know how scary the world can be for you right now, especially in the US where your very existence is under regular threat. Know that trans icon Dernhelm sees you, is proud of you, and has your back. And so do we. 🏳️‍⚧️ ✊

... And Queer Lodgings will answer! We took a bit of a break because... well... *gestures broadly at everything* But we just had a planning session for our next few episodes, which should include some great guests!

To our trans and enby fans: we see & stand with you during what is going to be a trying 4 years. As the US slides into naked oligarchy & fascism, we encourage you to be politically active on the local level when safe. We commit to being vocally queer & fostering a safe space within this fandom. 🌈
