The US has long been a beacon of leadership, supporting our partners against authoritarian threats. Trump’s behavior today marked by a disturbing shift toward Russian interests makes clear that he is willing to sacrifice our nation’s alliances for personal and political gain.

His blatant deference to Vladimir Putin over our European allies undermines U.S. credibility on the world stage and weakens the very alliances that have safeguarded democracy and global stability since the end of World War II.
