A YouTube Community Post from my channel that reads: Hello everyone, this is definitely more of a serious announcement than most. . . I am discussing potentially triggering topics so please be aware of that and its okay not to read this if youre not in the right headspace to do so. It pains me to make this announcement, but I will. Yesterday I learned of the death of Charlotte Fosgate, a 17 year old trans girl from Oregon who killed herself the night of May 2nd. I've only heard of her death now because no one besides local media cared until recently when police found the body- and still, no mainstream media outlet has reported on her death yet. . . I've only found information on her death from queer news sources. The responses to her final posts before she killed herself are absolutely- terribly disgusting. those comments are some of the most vile comments ever- making fun of a kid committing suicide is apparently okay in the eyes of society when that kid is trans. But its not- its fucked up, and everyone and anyone making fun of the suicide of a child can burn for all I fucking care. She was a child- she had a loving mother who now grieves the loss of her beloved daughter. Charlotte had friends, she had hobbies and interests and dislikes and fears and dreams and goals just like anyone else. She had a long life ahead of her- it was taken all too soon. May she rest in peace. And may her memory remain with us. Charlotte- you deserved so much better and I am so sorry that is not what you got.
