Finally, I would just like to also praise the beautiful way this movie is shot. One thing we can't criticize Rian Johnson for is visuals. And I just love how each of these Benoit Blanc movies looks different, how the light and the colors gives us compelitely different feelings in each movie.

Josh O'Connor is brilliant and I know that the big awards rarely look at movies like this one, but this guy deserves a couple of awards for this performance.
Daniel Craig is amazing as Benoit Blanc again. This character really is the perfect modern detective.

What really works in this movie are the themes, just like the other two movies before. Here we take a look at religion and how it can be used to control, but also how it can be used to heal and help people move on. Kindness always seems to be at the center of Benoit Blanc's mysterys and I love it.

The movie was also a bit too long and I don't think it was really necessary. The mystery was great, but I managed to guess the "who" pretty early on which for me isn't a good sign since I'm notoriously bad at figuring out mysterys.

I think the only reason this one falls a little short is because the ensamble wasn't as memorable as the other ones. The characters weren't as interesting and the ones that were didn't have enough screentime to become something great (the writer and the cellist especially).

Most of the other books aren't much better. Many are fiction or thriller with some sci-fi elements. It's depressing because I know that every year incredible science fiction books come out, but they don't get highlighted at all by Goodreads.

Also, why is everyone in the Mighty Nein's cast so fucking hot? The goblin girl being the exception (sorry, just not my thing 🤣)

I would just like to note that I love The Legend of Vox Machina. The comparison was done mostly because I expected this to be similar and was pleasently surprised that it wasn't more of the same but with a different cast of characters.
