This song literally took me to church. But a self preserving church if you will. It instantly made me cry and dance at the same time.
The thing about Church Girl is that you ✨had✨ to grow up a southern girl raised in a southern church to understand it. You had to grow up with prayer cloths and wooden pews and hymn books to truly understand what was being communicated. If you didn’t, you won’t ever fully appreciate the song. Ever.
