Autocorrect changed “Metamagical themas” into “metamucil themas”.

I don’t think a Hofstadter book on laxatives would do the numbers

At long last, I'm looking into #PCB #fabrication. This is a little capacitor education tool I designed called cap-fun.

Not had this made yet, it's coming!

Why do openAI let ChatGPT (attempt to) do fact-based technical imagery like this? (It’s nonsense)

Electricity and electronics are no joke.

It’ll also draw a completely stupid way to jump start your car.

Unwritten rule of UI design #634,975:

When a very common and uncomplicated operation like writing a small file to disk completes, you don’t need to breathlessly let the user know that it worked.

When a cat is relaxed and stretches one or two paws out into the air it is “touching the ghost of Elton John”.

Yes, Elton’s still alive. But they are touching his ghost anyway. Because cats are special

I posted about my cable recognition hack which has helped my sanity.

I’ll never defeat my cable nest(s) but I can pick out a cable much quicker now from a nest or my bag!

Tip: quicker cable recognition
If you have various nests of cables around the place you’re not unusual (USB anyone?). Organising your cable types, and keeping them organised, feels like a classic Sisyphean task. One way to make thi...

Ugh, I’m getting tired of the console-ification of pc games running gameplay. Sometimes at key junctures.

Dying light 2 has form here.

The latest is that I was at the start of the epilogue. I was hidden and wanted to stealth it. I had to leave the game, was stealth in bushes at time.

Happy "Microsoft trying to force CoPilot subs" day in the UK for all who celebrate.

(They just pinged me my renewal notice with it carefully worded to sound like a compulsory general price increase).

1) Go to your account page
2) Hit cancel
3) Change sub back.

Debugging an old flat panel tv that does nothing (that i can see) on power on.

It has a rareish combo of inputs: hdmi composite SVG. So it’s valuable for that.

If nothing else, I could save the panel itself for projects.

Does anyone else feel weird seeing all the videos about Neil Gaiman’s assaults/abuse that are monetised? Like, all of them.

The authors’ disgust stops short of not monetising the trauma of the victims.
