It's as important to the history of modern shooters as the first Call of Duty or Battlefield game if not moreso

Melodic black metal, death metal, indigenous North American music
🌟🌟🌟🌟💫
Fairly straightforward melodic BM with a surprisingly brilliant indigenous folk twist. Sounds a lot like Dissection's classic 1995 LP at times, which of course I can't get enough of.

Noise pop, shoegaze, indie rock
🌟🌟🌟🌟💫
Beautiful modern shoegaze release with rock solid songwriting and lush, swooning production to rival the best of Kevin Shields' work. Has a Swirlies-like musicality and tendency towards abstraction that I adore.

First-person dungeon crawler, action RPG, survival horror
🌟🌟🌟🌟
A short but incredibly satisfying romp through the peak of King's Field / Shadow Tower-era FromSoft game design. Incredible art direction and atmosphere. Obtuse, difficult, yet satisfying gameplay.

Hybrid-genre JRPG, dungeon crawler, monster collecting RPG
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This game is such a total fucking kick in the pants in every way and I goddamn love every second of it. Aesthetically perfect, as well. Sweet spot between the new Persona and classic SMT styles.

Emocore, alternative rock, punk rock
🌟🌟🌟🌟💫
It's like Turnstile's newer sound 20 years before Turnstile was a thing. Highly polished and well written/recorded emocore with beautiful, heartfelt vocal harmonies and solid musicianship. Just great rock n' roll, really.

Mathcore, alternative metal, weirdo djent
🌟🌟🌟🌟
Post-DEP mathcore with some of the funkiest and strangest guitar riffing this side of Gorguts or Meshuggah at their most obtuse. Their clean sections are lovely and well incorporated, much like later DEP. A solid listen.

Industrial metal, deathcore, alternative rock
🌟🌟🌟🌟💫
Wow, it's like if Bring Me the Horizon got heavier / stayed heavy while also incorporating the nu/alt metal and glitchy electronic/industrial flavors that also grew to be a part of that band's palette. p cool.
