Also I would not decide what Westminster meeting’s principles are, but I am very aware of my own principles of my Quaker meeting/yearly meeting.

Today in the Quaker meeting for worship I attended, there were messages about authorities disrupting worship “like happened in Britain” and those Quakers seemed confused about what happened. To be clear, I do object to any peaceful group being forcibly/violently interrupted by law enforcement.

I guess I’m thinking a lot about the distinction, as a US Quaker involved in a lawsuit about ICE entering/disrupting Quaker meetings. The lawsuit of about disrupting worship, not the building. And the subsequent legal concerns have been challenging!

Correct. But to a non- Quaker, it appears “entered a place of worship” sounds the same as “entered a Quaker meeting for worship” which is a different thing. I agree and I also would be outraged if anyone entered our meetinghouse in this way.

I thought that too!

They could have been Quakers. That’s not relevant. That was a meeting of an organization that rented the space , not a Quaker meeting for worship. The article is misleading.

It is the worst. But what just strikes me – it may seem trivial but it really isn't – is that Trump broke the age old custom of hospitality. He invited someone into his home and publicly ambushed him there with the aim of destroying his credibility. This breaks a taboo in ALL human cultures.
