I got a new gaming PC.

It said it was 11000khz so thats gotta be good. Having a big number and all.

A small snippet of the sound module I am working on for my game engine! Right now, simply loads, stores and plays sounds, with nothing else fancy.

However, I will work on more fancy stuff later down the line, for example playing sounds and music with user settings for audio etc.

Started getting ready for animation and putting it in the engine.

The red stripes have been replaced with white on a new layer, as the lines will be tinted to indicate the colour of the team the building belongs to, such as red for an enemy, etc.

And the two black lines are so I know where 32 is.

Oh and this is the inspiration image I used. Mostly cuz it was the only one similar to what I wanted on google.

Trying my hand at pixel art for the game I am making with my own engine.

I feel like I am doing quite well! Just trying to figure out shading and such. I did use inspiration for the shape and structure of it, as if not it likely wouldn't look like a powerplant, and instead just a block on a screen.

Oh also, a cool screenshot of my game engine! It's made in C++ using SFML.

The making a full game part is yet to happen, but it's capable! Had to restart the development of the engine as my original design was horrible, however after some reworking, it is so much better, and easier to change too.

Got 2 more room plans completed, with one left, then the final room of the game (but leaving it to last as special attention is needed)

Overall, very happy with my progress so far. Over the past few weeks I've learnt so much about UE5, and game design as a whole!

It may still be a mess of blocks, but it's getting there. The AI is doing mostly what I want, the plan is being finalised, and things are coming together!

Just need to learn lighting in Unreal Engine 5, and how to make it look good, then it's mostly just menus and art!

After a good while of testing, the AI for my game now seems to be working! At least better than before. There are occasional issues with it, however it seems to be working as mostly intended.

Now just need to add the ability for them to grab the player, and for the player to distract them.

Not 100% on this yet, however a basic layout of the corridor is done. I still feel it's too cluttered for the modern house I am going for, but it's getting there. At least is has all the assets it needs in the space, and somewhat organised.

Next is to tackle the living room portion of the level.

Very messy, however I finally have a layout plan down!

It's a very early concept, and not all things are perfectly sized, however this is the general level plan, including line of sight of the enemies, location of the target and locations of objects that can be hidden behind.

While my sleep schedule is messed up due to my week of illness a few weeks back, I have been working!

So far, I have the basic outline of the level for my second assignment at University. The overall idea of the game is that a homeless man is turned hitman in the hit game Assassins Crud.

Still having issues with placeables overlapping, but I am slowly getting there.

Trying different methods, just annoying how all of them so far have given problems.

Managed to get the money system working.

The original design for it was using casting, however it was casting on a per-tick basis, so to make it less expensive I set the player to a variable in the widget, which gets set when the widget is created by the player.

Likely not the best way still.

character the player can control, which is used to go manage employees on an individual scale. I don't plan on copying Software Inc, but it's being exactly what I said it was, an inspiration.

I will leave you all with some screenshots of development. I will also post more about it in coming weeks!

As for the Maya portion, I am no 3D artist, so don't expect good things.

I started with basics, like a door, a crate and a shelf. A few days ago I managed to make a can, and now I am making a ladder. They are not at all related, but all things I thought would add to the level I am making.

Been very busy and productive today, and about to head out and continue working.

Spent the day between Unreal Engine 5 and Autodesk Maya, creating more assets for my level and trying to finalise things.

Hoping to have it done by the end of today besides some polish.
