I've seen people dumping on stoicism because ancient Greeks and Romans considered homosexuality, pederasty and sexism as normal, or held slaves. Do we look back and say that all views of the USA forefathers are worthless because they lived in a sexist, racist society and many held slaves?

I've been suspecting the trade war is because of the wokeness inherent in transcontinental and transglobal agreements.

A likely concern when tempering a positive view is whether one should do that at all. If one should, how to avoid turning it too far and starting to take a negative view?
