Two questions for HBCU Band season: 1. Are these bands too big? The quality will need to be checked. Bigger doesn't equal better. 2. Are there enough trumpets to go around? There are a lot of lower and middle brass in these bands. Will they drown out the trumpets?

MEAC: 1. NCCU- no excuses, 2. SCSU- who's stepping up, 3. Norfolk- local celebrity recruiter, 4. Morgan- prove me wrong, 5. Howard- cooked, 6. DSU- need a miracle. This has to be NCCU's right? Two team race. Please stop whining about the Friday game. TV is king. Use it to your advantage.

SWAC West: 1. Southern- by default, 2. PV- show me first, 3. Alcorn- just a hunch, 4. Texas So- surprise team, 5. Gram- good or bad Joseph is gone, 6. UAPB- DOA. Anyone can win it besides UAPB. Alcorn and Texas Southern need to show improvement. Is PV bark or bite? Either way, not beating JSU.

SWAC East: 1. JSU- might not lose, 2. FAMU- is Colzie the guy? 3. Bama State- AAMU is catching them soon, 4. AAMU- wait and see, 5. BCU- time for a change, 6. Valley- no expectations. Overall, it might be a race to Bridgewater. Bama State needs to field a whole team if they're going to catch FAMU.

SWAC Band Rankings: 1. JSU 2. TSU 3. SU 4. FAMU 5. Bama State 6. BCU 7. PV 8. Alcorn 9. AAMU 10. UAPB 11. GSU 12. Valley. Valley will be last no matter what. Grambling unless something changes will stay next to last. Jackson is first but won't be the band of the year. Either TSU or SU face NCAT.

Playoff prediction: 1. Oregon 2. Georgia 3. Boise State 4. Clemson 5. Texas 6. Notre Dame 7. Penn State 8. @OhioStateFB 9. Tennessee 10. Indiana 11. Alabama 12. Arizona State. Yes SMU isn't in. Their conference schedule was weak. The playoff is a TV product. Need i say more.

Drake might as well become a Kids Bop artist. His street cred is done. You don't involve the law in street business. No self-respecting person will work with him. If they do, they'll learn why it's a mistake.

Sometimes, in life, it's better to take the loss and keep it moving. Crying and making excuses only make it worse. It's not worth the credibility you lose and only exposes your weaknesses more. Don't dig the hole deeper to where you can't recover.

The ACC credibility is about to be destroyed by one massive mistake. Whoever made SMU schedule this year was an idiot. You can't let a school that came from the group of 5 have an easy conference schedule in the first year. If they win out, the ACC loses credibility.

If Boise State wins out and either Colorado or SMU wins their conference; you have to give Boise State a top 4 seed. You can't justify not giving a team whose only loss is a 3 point loss to a top 5 team at their place credit for being a good team. If you want the playoff to be taken seriously.

Is the dominance of the SEC and Big Ten in FBS football a one year trend or a sign of things to come? I believe that it's a sign of things moving forward, and they need to form their own playoff. Each have their own playoff, move the conference championship games to New Years Day. Stop playing.
