I just want to say this polarization you see isn't it mostly online. In real world settings aren't most people civil. We can't always choose our setting in real life, but why seek out online influencers/fake people to harm ourselves..

Yes, but doing that with a liar is just inviting trouble and being reckless. we can make good policies that help everyone, including ambitious liars, without having to interact with them

a terrible person is someone who lies without hesitation. agreeing or arguing with them is pointless. because they just want to win the argument, and because they have no real principles they have no problem contradicting their previous statements lol

For people who say things like that terrible person actually said things I agree with, I want to ask can you even tell which of their statements are their true beliefs and which were grifter statements? does it matter?

I don't understand the emotional manipulation or mental gymnastics. The only true empathy every one should be concerned about losing is the one we naturally have towards injustice.

when everyone just responds to the words Kirk and others like him say I feel like it's not the real issue. doesn't everyone also say people like him don't believe the words they say? it's all a corrupt side of capitalism, lying being normal, scams being normal, surely the gov can crack down on this

"if you believe the GOP...can be reasoned with..." I don't need to believe anything. I watched this process happen before, you CAN pressure your Republican reps to vote a certain way, AND people who aren't on social media have been instinctually doing just that recently, ie engaging in democracy
