I argue that the seed industry is a great example of how modern technology (biotechnology) deeply influences agriculture and rural development. It is also connected to many theoretical questions, such as regional and global innovation networks, global value chains, and technological sovereignty.

We want to focus on a case study and combine network analysis and interviews. We had a very interesting study case in China which is an agricultural cluster. So it is at a geographical peripheral region but at a national business network core.
