LESS ONLINE, MORE PRODUCTIVITY, MORE GAMES. And ultimately? A far more satisfying and fun use of my time! Farewell 2025!

I could sit down to play a new game for a few hours, but end up checking online for something, I see an interesting video, I watch it, I watch something else. I go back to the game, I get distracted again.

The few hours pass and I maybe spent 30-60 minutes playing the game, the rest distracted.

So that's that! The price is worth it to me, so I'll buy it. If it's not worth it to you, don't buy it. I'm getting this console and the games no matter the cost, because I'll get my moneys worth. June 5th can't come fast enough!

Can't find many talking about it though. It's buried in the vitriol and the arguments and the complaining and the debates. I'm not built for the drama. If economic collapse is inevitable, I'd rather live my final days before the famine having the time of my life playing Nintendo.

I really don't know. And I normally wouldn't care. But my god, how difficult it is to find just some discussions on the content of the games they've shown.

That's what I'm excited for. Metroid Prime 4, Donkey Kong, Kirby Air Riders, Mario Kart World. I'm stoked!

Then I begin to wonder what the inverse of this would be. People expect Nintendo to be the budget console, that's why they're mad. But if the Switch 2 was a toaster that couldn't perform or keep up, wouldn't everyone be just as mad, except for the opposite reason?

Easily into the 10 figure price range on all of that, so this is more likely to be ragebait, or at the very least a "subtle" flex. Just to show off or get people mad instead of actual criticism. But whatever. It's the kind of thing I've been seeing a lot of.

Another individual said they'll never buy a Switch 2 due to the absurd cost, and they'll take this time to work through their backlog of games. Accompanying it was this picture of their massive backlog.

One individual said GTA 6 would justify the game price, while Mario Kart World wouldn't. I'm excited for GTA 6, I plan to play through the entire story and dabble in the multiplayer.

But I already know I'll get twice as many hours out of Mario Kart World. It's worth it to me.

But at the same time, I can't help but think a lot of the hate is just to hate because everyone else is. Ragebait, for lack of a better term. Telling others what is and isn't worth their money, what they will or won't get out of something. The internet loves a good fight!

I'm too stupid to fully understand politics or tariffs or inflation, so I'm not going to pretend to know what I'm talking about. I do feel like this blowback was a long time coming based on the grand economic situation, and Nintendo just so happens to be the punching bag.

All the vitriol online is exhausting, really. I've been excited and anticipating this console for a long time now, and no amount of complaining about the price from people (or insults being thrown my way) is gonna put a damper on that.
