Thursday Throwback to 1934 and the building of the Hornibrook Highway. The highway opened the following year on 4 October 1935 and offered a faster route between Brisbane and the Redcliffe Peninsula. The toll booth had a night-safe and strong room for toll security.

Take a look at these trains on display at the RNA Showgrounds in 1914. I've got to wonder what's inside the rear carriage that has captured everyone's attention.

Behind the trains is the historic John MacDonald Stand which still stands at the RNA showgrounds today.

Museum Monday...anyone love Mary Poppins? The Story Bank in Maryborough is a museum dedicated to P.L Travers, the author of Mary Poppins. This museum is one of my favourites and is full of exhibits that explore Traver's life and the creation of Mary Poppins.
