A person can be responsible for reprehensible speech that led to reprehensible actions and still they should not die. People can change, while death is permanent. When you kill someone, the bad they have done stays- while you extinguish their potential for good forever.

Should it have happened? Definitely no.

Just because someone deserves something, doesn't mean they should get it. I'd argue that the united healthcare CEO deserved it too, but also should not have been killed.
