Global EM were in Bogota for the NFRF_GNFR funded project using geo-data technology enhancing humanitarian responses in migration crises, a 2 day 3iSolutions conference on The future of humanitarian organizations: Technology, AI, and ethics in a world of transformation. @susanabartels.bsky.social

Dr. Tiahna Warkentin had the opportunity to learn from global PoCUS experts at Lighthouse Clinic in Lilongwe, Malawi where PoCUS is used in the workup of tuberculosis, liver cirrhosis, and heart failure. @susanabartels.bsky.social

Two of our past fellows Dr. @jodiep.bsky.social and Dr. Julianna Deutscher joined international colleagues to complete their Emergo Training System Senior Instructor course in Sweden this February, and are now certified to run Emergo mass casualty simulations as part of their global EM work!

Dr. Tia Warkentin recently returned from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as part of the November TAAAC-EM (Toronto Addis Ababa Academic Collaboration) team. In Addis, she taught point of care ultrasound (PoCUS) to emergency medicine residents and staff PoCUS fellows.

Introducing our newest fellow Dr. Tiahna (Tia) Warkentin, a PGY-5 in Queen’s University Emergency Medicine Residency program who joined our program in July 2024. Tia has a passion for global emergency medicine and its intersection with POCUS.

Our Most recent Graduate is Dr. Julianna Deutscher of University of Toronto. Julianna brought over a decade of experience in advocating for persons who have experienced human trafficking.

Dr Jodie Pritchard, Global EM fellow @qemergglobal.bsky.social 2019-2020. Her current work in Emergency Medicine at Queen's University focuses on Global EM systems strengthening, MedEd in Global Health, alongside other research projects within the Global EM team at Queen’s.

Fellow in 2017. She is the faculty lead for Queen’s collaboration with Haramaya University in Harar, Ethiopia and co-chair of CAEP Global EM committee.
