Quite a few years ago, a major Right-wing Japanese newspaper did a survey and said most people wanted nukes. But I doubt the accuracy, because it might just ask its readers.

It worked (kind of) in Telltale because the animation in those cutscenes were "slower" and jankier.
The fact that the game informs you you can turn QTE off at beginning shows even the developers were not 100% sure about keeping the tradition going.

I turned off QTE after a few cutscenes because it stopped me from enjoying those greatly animated action sequence.

The reference joke style writing often went dangerously close to full Deadpool. Never go full Deadpool.
